Here you get Magikarp 203/193 from the German set Paldea Evolved as a coveted Illustration Rare in the PSA 9 MINT slab.
Magikarp leaps through a massive waterfall, while currents, plants, rocks, and other Magikarp fill the entire card. The motif appears wild, deep, and almost chaotic – and that's precisely why it immediately sticks in your memory.
Deep black, dark water blue, luminous turquoise, white-breaking spray, vibrant Magikarp red, and golden-yellow fins create an extremely strong contrast. In the PSA holder, the card looks almost like a small painting.
The card was professionally graded 9 MINT by PSA.
You will receive exactly the photographed PSA slab with certificate number 141317066.
PSA 9 is an attractive collector's condition for this highly sought-after Illustration Rare: professionally verified, protected, and significantly more accessible than a PSA 10 specimen.
Please also evaluate the card and holder based on the pictures. Reflections, fine hairlines, or small dust spots may be visible due to lighting, protective sleeve, or the exterior of the PSA holder.
Magikarp has been one of the most famous Water-type Pokémon since the first Pokémon generation.
In the game, it is initially considered weak and its Splash attack has little effect. Nevertheless, it has one of the most impressive evolutions ever: the small Magikarp later becomes the mighty Gyarados.
This contrast between apparent weakness and enormous potential is precisely what makes Magikarp one of the most likable and well-known Pokémon in the entire series to this day.
Shinji Kanda is known for particularly dense, wild, and detailed Pokémon artworks.
On this card, Magikarp is not simply placed in front of a neutral background. The entire landscape is alive: water rushes between rocks, plants grow into the scene, and several Magikarp struggle against the current.
The longer you look at the motif, the more small details become visible. This is exactly what makes the card feel not like an ordinary Illustration Rare, but like an independent work of art.
The collector's appeal comes from the combination of:
✔ Magikarp as a classic Generation 1 Pokémon
✔ German language version
✔ Illustration Rare from Paldea Evolved
✔ Shinji Kanda artwork
✔ Strong international demand
✔ PSA 9 MINT
✔ Unusual waterfall and landscape scene
This card doesn't just function as an addition to a set. It is a standalone showcase piece for Magikarp, Gyarados, Water-type Pokémon, and modern artwork collections.
The photos were taken with plenty of coffee, patience, and the difficult attempt to keep Magikarp still during its grand waterfall appearance.
Holo effects, reflections, or small visible dust spots may occur due to lighting, camera, protective sleeve, or the exterior of the PSA holder. Please use all images for your own assessment.
